My dear friend Greer Wylder took a life-changing volunteer trip to Kenya in 2010 when she met two wonderful young adults, Jack and Milly. Living in a small village in Nairobi with no electricity and running water, these two bright and driven young adults wanted nothing more than to attend a university, but didn’t have the means to do so.
Moved by their intelligence and passion to pursue an education, Greer founded Educating Jack & Milly – A Picture Perfect Beginning. Upon her return to Southern California, Greer’s awe-inspiring images that she took during her first trip to Kenya were sold with proceeds going to fund what has now been their first two years of college. Milly is hoping to start her own business and Jack is studying broadcast journalism.
An opportunity to give back by supporting these two gifted young adults is this Thursday, August 23, at a photo exhibit and fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. at The District Art Gallery in Tustin.
The evening will also include refreshments and live music by Matt Shockley, all set amongst the artwork and photography of The District Art Gallery at The District at Tustin Legacy. Don’t miss this special exhibit and opportunity to continue to support two very deserving young people, Jack & Milly, in their pursuit of a further education. The District Art Gallery is located in The District at Tustin Legacy, at 2477 Park Avenue in Tustin. 424.645.4161.
